For more than 180 years we, the Oblate Sisters of Providence, have responded to God's love by offering ourselves totally to the service of others. Our motto, Providentia Providedit (Providence will Provide) reflects our charism and enables us to put our trust in God in order that God will lead, guide and care for us with unconditional love.
"Response to Love" is the title of our Religious Congregation's Constitutions and Directives. It is from these that we carry out the inspirations of the Holy Spirit.
Our initial Response to Love is to deepen our spirituality.
Secondly, our Response to Love reaches outward to embrace youth, the aged and the poor.
The marginalized whom we serve have the same kinds of dreams and aspirations that many
in our nation hold dear.
Thirdly, we extend our Response to Love to each other within the Congregation and to our
family and friends and loved ones whom we have been privileged to know and serve over
